Most scripts require the use of a MySQL Database. You will have to set one up yourself if you need it. If you are hosted, ask your host to set one up for you.

+ What is a MySQL Database?
· MySQL is a server program which allows information to be stored and retrieved using SQL.For the simple SQL statements that are typical of web based content mySQL is the fastest of the SQL servers. To put it simple, scripts store their information in the database engine so it can 'grab' the data it has stored within it quickly.

+ So, how do I set one up?
First, you must log into your Cpanel. You MUST have access to this in order to create it. Which goes back to why you must ask your host to do it if you are hosted.
Look for a MySQL Icon. It should look something like this:



Click that and it should take you to a page we will call the MySQL admin. Scroll down on that page and look for something like this:



This is where you will first be creating the database. Type in what you want your database name to be and click Add Db.

Go back to the MySQL admin page and look for something like this:



This is where the username and password for your database will be created. Type in what you want your databaseusername and password to be. It is a good idea to make the username the same as what you named your database so there is no confusion. Don't forget what you made your password either! Click add user and you should be brought to a "Success!" Screen. After you see this, make your way back to the MySQL Admin.

Finally, scroll down to the drop down menu:



Select the database and User that you made and click Add user to Database. You're done!
